Foreign media have come up with an interesting point that next year Samsung may remove the Galaxy S25 + from the list, launching only the standard Galaxy S25 model and the top-of-the-line Galaxy S25 Ultra, just two models. This is because the Galaxy S25 + is currently the only model out of all that does not yet have a model code in the IMEI database, which is strangely out of the norm. The reason for this is hard to predict, but it could be related to sales or the need to reduce duplication of product lines.
As per the leaked information, the Galaxy S25 has the model number SM-S931B/DS, where DS stands for dual SIM, while the Galaxy S25 Ultra will have SM-S938B, SM-S938U, SM-S938N, and SM-S9380. The models are divided according to the regions or countries where they are marketed, which are International, US, and South Korea, respectively. As for the Galaxy S25+, there is still no sign of it at all.
Samsung has stuck to the tradition of releasing 'Plus' versions of its Galaxy S-series alongside the standard models for years. The main differences are a slightly larger screen and a slightly larger battery for the size of the device, while the Ultra models are the most powerful, with S Pen support and a design that sets them apart from the others in the series.
It's true that the Plus models have often been the worst-selling Galaxy S-series models over the years, but when looking at this year's Galaxy S24 series alone, the Galaxy S24+ saw its sales increase from 15% to 21% year-on-year (partly because this time around, the Galaxy S24+ has more RAM and a higher screen resolution). Still, Samsung may see the cancellation of the Galaxy S25+ next year as a factor in encouraging users who want a bigger screen to switch to the Galaxy S25 Ultra instead (?).
