The iPhone 16 design schemes were shared by Majin Boo on the social network X. As you can see from the drawings, the main and wide-angle cameras are now positioned vertically above each other. This solution is similar to the one the company applied in the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max . It was in these models that Cupertino changed the position of the lenses and placed the main module and the wide-angle one on top of each other. When you rotate the smartphone to a horizontal orientation, both of these cameras are located on the same line, which allows you to shoot Spatial Video for Apple Vision Pro .

Unfortunately, if you don't have an Apple VR headset , then on your smartphone they will look like regular videos, and shot in 1080p 30 FPS resolution . It is possible that the iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max will be able to shoot spatial videos with higher resolution, otherwise shooting in Full HD looks a bit dull for 2024. Based on the diagrams posted by Majin Boo, the MacRumors portal has prepared high-quality renderings of new smartphones. In the initial leaks regarding the design of the iPhone 16, there was a possibility that Apple would implement a camera unit similar to how it was in the iPhone X: two lenses, a flash and a microphone under one glass. However, in the end it was decided to make its own version for the iPhone 16. The lenses are located vertically on a small protruding block, each under its own protective glass, and next to them is a microphone. At the same time, there was no place for the flash on the ledge, and it is located slightly to the right of the camera block itself.
